After complaints about American dominance of the internet and growing disquiet in some parts of the world, Washington has said it will relinquish some control over the way the network is run and allow foreign governments more of a say in the future of the system.

Digg: RIM Installs BlackBerry Servers in Saudi Arabia to Avoid Ban

Just as we were wrapping up for the weekend, Saudi Arabia still had BlackBerry service, despite an impending ban. RIM made a lot of talk about not doing any particular governments any favors, but word from Saudi Arabia’s Comms and Info Tech Commission suggests that three servers are being put in place that would satisfy regulatory requirements.
