Ready to dig deep,
really deep, for a tiny but magnificent OLED television? You'd better be 'cause some purportedly leaked Sony documents are showing a new "KDL-ZX Series OLED" on the 2010 / 2011 roadmap. All the sets are listed as prototypes so they may or may not make it to market for retail. But with Sony's two year old,
11-inch XEL-1 OLED TV now dwarfed by LG's new
15-inch OLED TV and a
20-incher promised for 2010, well, we expect Sony will want to regain its leadership in
the new year. The docs also show updates to Sony's flagship
XBR series with the XBR11 LED W-backlit LCD and XBR12 Advanced LED RGB-backlit LCD sets coming in sizes from 32- to 60-inches featuring 240Hz Motionflow, a new Bravia Engine 3 PRO with HD Video processor, and UV2A panel technology. Unfortunately, some of the XBR information (the most important, presumably) is blacked-out and we're only looking at 2 of what appear to be 24 pages of leaked content. Boy would we love to peak behind

No matter how realistic a
KIRF phone looks these days, there's always a catch somewhere. For instance, this GSM handset is pretty much an exact clone of the
HTC Tattoo, except for a couple of debatably important things: the suspiciously-cheerful $169 price tag, and the fact that Windows Mobile (and not
Android) is running the show. Oh, and it doesn't end there: judging by the photo, you'd assume this evil clone runs
WinMo 6.5, yet the spec sheet mutters 6.1. A typo? Maybe. Something far more baleful?
Maybe. A KIRF OS to go along with the KIRF hardware? Probably. That said, it's hard to turn down a cheap phone that packs GPS, FM radio, stereo Bluetooth audio, a spare battery and a 2.8-inch touchscreen (240 x 320), but that's assuming that you've no self-esteem to speak of. Enjoy copying DVDs onto $5,000 boutique home servers? If you've got the dough,
ReQuest has got you covered -- CEO Peter Cholnoky says that even if California courts make the practice illegal, his firm isn't afraid to push back. When
CE Pro asked whether he was concerned about the fallout from the
Kaleidescape lawsuit, he said, "Nope, should I be?" adding that ReQuest could convert
existing equipment to use third-party DVD-copying software "in two seconds" should the courts try to shut him down. Given that the company's new $1,200 MediaPlayer (above) doesn't have the requisite DVD drive for ripping discs anyhow, that sounds an awful lot like braggadocio, but we have to say we love Peter's stick-it-to-the-man tone. Oh, and in case you're wondering, that MediaPlayer is slated to ship in June; you'll find a full spec sheet at our source link.

Hey, remember that weirdo
Motorola XT300 portrait slider we saw with hints of Droid branding back in August? It was just announced at
CTIA (and released in Brazil) as the Spice. Apart from the form factor, it's basically a
Flipout with a different hinge -- it's got Android 2.1 with Motoblur, a 528MHz processor, a 3.2-inch QVGA screen, Motorola's crazy "Backtrack" rear trackpad, and a 3.2 megapixel camera -- but it was apparently designed and built entirely in Brazil, so that's something. We're assuming AT&T passed on this one when it chose to release the
Flipout, Flipside and Bravo instead, but damn -- can someone please take this form factor and put it together with a high-end Android spec sheet already? We have cash money.
