As the endless brouhaha ringing from all corners of the Internet has proven, AT&T (or Apple, or whoever takes the blame in the end) really dropped the ball on this
Google Voice thing. Whether it was rejected outright or shelved indefinitely, competing parties have been quick to play on their delays. First, Palm essentially put third-party Google Voice dialer gDialPro on its shoulders and carried it across the finish line by ensuring that it was one of the first (and still one of just a few) applications to land on the webOS App Catalog. Now, Sprint has come along and done something rare: they've dropped long-established fees. With Google Voice's new
keep-your-number feature in mind, Sprint will be doing away with the call forwarding fees associated with third-party voicemail services come mid-November.

It's a rather stunning number from AdMob in an October report. The firm reports on web requests from thousands of sites world wide. In the latest report, Apple has 55% of the domestic Smartphone traffic share, and Android has 20%. Interestingly, the Blackberry share dropped 2% to a 12 percent share, and Palm's webOS dropped from a 10% share to 5%.

Good news, Palm fans! If you've taken a break from jamming on the "Update" button, it's time to go tap it one last time: the rollout of webOS 1.4 has just begun. The catch: it seems that it's only for Sprint handsets right now, with the Verizon Pre Plus and Pixi Plus still reporting that 1.3 is the latest release. We knew it was coming in February thanks to Palm's announcement at CES -- and thanks to the rumor mill, we were all lead to believe it was coming
a few weeks ago. All false starts and false hopes aside, it's available now. We're seeing reports (thanks Twitter!) that it
just has gone live on Sprint handsets.
